Why our reviews are bad on Yelp? I'll explain...
I wanted to share my experience and frustration with Yelp and shed some light on how it operates, particularly in terms of its impact on business owners and workers.

Yelp has become a dominant platform for consumers to find and review businesses, but what many people don’t realize is the pressure it puts on business owners to pay for its services. Yelp’s advertising model is controversial, to say the least. If business owners don’t fork over money for ads, Yelp allegedly hides positive reviews and showcases negative ones, essentially holding business reputations hostage. We actually have 50+ positive 5 star reviews that Yelp refuses to post since we don't advertise with them. It is over $400 a month just to advertise then they will post all the good reviews that they are holding hostage.

This practice is incredibly unfair and detrimental to both business owners and workers. Firstly, it’s extortionate to force businesses to pay just to have a fair chance at showcasing positive reviews.

Secondly, it undermines the hard work and dedication of workers who rely on these businesses for their livelihoods.

Yelp’s tactics essentially leach off business owners, coercing them into paying for their services under the threat of tarnishing their reputation. It’s a lose-lose situation for everyone involved except Yelp itself.

Vaccinations
Dogs Under 16 weeks: Puppy Starter (Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Distemper). Puppies must have completed at least 2 sets of shots before being admitted into the Grooming Salon. 16 weeks and older: Rabies: All dogs must wait 24 hours after receiving any vaccination before being admitted into the Grooming Salon.

Our salon doesn't require a hard copy of vaccination records we just need to obtain the information we need off of it and then will give you back the originals.

We accept all major credit cards including apple pay and google pay. There is a $3.00 processing fee that will be added. To avoid that fee please pay in cash or check.
Basic Groom
This groom includes: Bath, Brush, Blow Dry, Nails (clipped or dremel), Sanitary Area and Anal Glands Expressed (on request). No haircut is included in this groom.

OUR SHOP
We are a full service store front located in the SW section of Marion County, Florida. We were created and opened for business in 2019. We provide grooming services for dogs and cats. We are able to do breed standard cuts, shave downs or whatever the customers requests.

We try to accommodate our customers with appointments as much as we can. You can book appointments by calling our shop or by requesting an appointment here on our website.
We have many talented groomers who have been grooming for a total amount of 40 years plus! We can do fur coloring and nail painting!

Our Shop Policies

Effective February 1st, 2020
CANCELLATION POLICY: The staff at Posh Paws would greatly appreciate any cancellations be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. We understand that things happen at the last minute that may prevent you from making it to your appointment. Please call us to re-schedule or cancel any appointment. Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time may incur a cancellation fee of $25.00.
NOTE: Due to the high demand for appointments during the holidays, all appointments scheduled November – December will require a credit card to reserve the appointment and must be cancelled no less that 48 hours to prevent a $25 late cancellation fee.
DEMATTING FEES
There will be an extra charge of $15.00 added onto any animal that has excess matting. Excess dematting causes us to get backed up on appointments after yours and it's not fair for other clients having to wait longer than expected.
NO SHOW APPOINTMENT FEES
There will also be a fee of $25.00 added onto your next appointment if you are a NO SHOW APPOINTMENT. Making an appointment reserves that space for your dog. When you do not show up for that appointment, we lose revenue for another dog that could have taken that same spot. We ask that you give us at least 24 hours for an appointment change or cancellation. We will forgive the first no show but after that, we have to charge for the reserved time. (We may excuse it if we feel there is a true emergency but that is at our discretion.) This is a policy that must be enforced. This is also on the release form that you signed when you came in at your first appointment.
ARRIVALS: In order to ensure that your pet benefits the best from his/her grooming experience we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your spa appointment to allow time for a meeting with your groomer to discuss any specific details with your groomer.
LATE ARRIVALS: Please call us if you know that you are going to be late for your appointment. We will do everything we can to still be able to give you the service you have booked, however if you are more than 20 minutes late we may not be able to complete your service and still be on time for our next Pet. If so we will need to reschedule your appointment and it will be considered a late-cancel and subject to cancellation fees.

LATE PICKUPS: If we have tried to contact you to pick up your pet and we wind up having to keep our shop open because you forgot to pick up your pet. YOU WILL BE ASSESSED A $25.00 LATE PICK UP FEE PER 1/2 HOUR WE HAVE TO REMAIN OPEN FOR YOU NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! We apologize for this but it is becoming a consistent problem and it's not fair to have to keep staff here after hours.

​INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: The staff at Posh Paws will do our best to give all clients at least a two hour notice if their appointment needs to be rescheduled due to inclement weather. Our normal 24 hour cancellation policy does not apply where there is inclement weather. We will respect anyone who requests to reschedule their appointment even if we have decided to open for that day. Please check our website or Facebook page for closing or delayed opening updates.
​PAYMENT: At Posh Paws we accept cash, check, American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We also take Apple Pay and Google Pay. For checks there is a $35.00 return check fee. Payment is expected at time of service. Gratuity is always appreciated. There are NO REFUNDS given!

We reserve the right to contact your veterinarian if we are accused of any wrong doing after a grooming session. This is to protect our business from those who try to get us to pay for vet bills that have nothing to do with the actual groom.
​GIFT CERTIFICATES: Gift Certificates cannot be redeemed for cash and are non-refundable. The value of a gift certificate will not be replaced if lost, stolen, destroyed, altered or used without your permission. Gift certificates must be presented at time of service.

ONLINE INTERNET BASHING: Any internet bashing of this business online or elsewhere will not be tolerated! If this occurs, the client will be immediately banned from our shop and from any other future business at Posh Paws Grooming. If there is a problem, our salon manager, Lizmari will handle any and all complaints.

Posh Paws Cat Grooming Policy
Before the Groom-

How to make a booking: First Call us at 352-304-5515 or book online at poshpawsgroomingocala.com. We only groom cats in the afternoon as the shop is quieter when dogs have gone home. We do not groom cats first thing in the morning! Please advise us if this is your first time your cat is being groomed or if he/she is used to be groomed.

Cancellation of Grooming Appointment / No-Show 24 hours notice is required for grooming cancellations/rescheduling so we can fill your appointment.

Please bring your cat in a carrier lined with a towel. Cats can urinate and defecate during transport; any bathing of cat is added to the grooming cost.

Existing skin conditions can be exposed with de-matting and clipping of your pet.

Cats’ skin has a higher risk of being cut which increases with age and matting. Cats also have a high risk of complications during the grooming process, even slight stress with underlying undiagnosed conditions can result in illness and even death. We recommend all cats be seen by a veterinarian regularly as heart and kidney issues are common in cats and can cause these to increase during or after a groom. Grooming is at the owners/agents own risk. Posh Paws Grooming of Ocala and its staff hold no liability to the accident, illness, or death of a cat under their supervision. Please be aware of this. I do all in my power to avoid this from happening, the best thing you can do is keep your pets health checks and vaccinations up to date and keep grooming regular. All cost associated with Veterinary attention are the pet owners/agent’s responsibility.

Price may change at Groomer’s discretion. Bathing is charged per hour, before matting/coat condition. There will be a fee for Matting/ aggression/ fleas/ hard to groom/bad skin/ infected ears/extra time needed/ biting etc. These pets are wear and tear on the equipment and the Groomer. If a groomer is bitten by your cat, we will no longer provided services to your cat and it will be sent home with the full grooming fee paid.

I designate a specific amount of time for your cat. Cats have a low threshold; grooming must be quick and precise. If your cat needs more than the designated time, is extremely matted or full of coat, or is showing signs of stress, you may be asked to return another day to complete the groom. Payment will be required for the future appointment at pick up. We will not do longer grooms as this extensive stress is dangerous for cats even if they are not showing signs of stress.

If your cat is presented at the salon to have a contagious disease (eg, ringworm, cat flu, bacterial or fungal skin infections), or is needing Veterinary attention for a found existing condition, your cat will be sent home and the groom not completed, with full grooming fees paid. Failure to disclosed pre-existing conditions is disrespectful to my groomers and our next clients.

Teeth Cleaning Policy- We will only brush teeth when asked to do so and not remove plaque or tartar.

Flea Control Policy- Your cat may be sent home with a cleaning fee and/or sent home if found to have fleas during the grooming session at the groomers’ discretion. All pets should be on a flea control program, at all times of the year.

Ear Cleaning Policy- We will externally clean ears when asked to do so. If an ear looks inflamed or has a discharge, we will not clean these ears as can cause discomfort or further issues.

Payment is by cash, check or credit card on completion of the groom.

We recommend re-booking a regular groom up to 6 months in advance to avoid disappointment.

Please note we have a strict regular grooming policy, due to limited timing and striving for a positive grooming experience, and therefore cannot take once-a-year clients. All clients must be on a 2-12 weekly schedule to retain our services.
